About the Creator

Alexandra Preucil

Alexandra is a violinist, composer, and music educator. Alongside an international performing career, she has led education initiatives with major orchestras, founded teaching programs for advanced students, and worked to bring music off the stage and into classrooms and communities around the world.

She is the creator of Harmony the Hare, an interactive musical world designed to introduce children to classical music through story and sound. Centered around a string quartet and a menagerie of musical mammals, these characters invite young listeners to explore what music makes them feel through harmony, rhythm, and self expression.

Antoine Tamestit

Illustrator

Antoine is an artist inspired by the relationship between image and sound. As a child, he had art lessons with his great aunt during his school holidays and he has continued to draw and paint privately throughout his adult life as an internationally renowned violist. His work on Harmony the Harebegan as a small sketch on a card, created as a gift for one of Alexandra’s early performances. From these first drawings grew a cast of characters that invite children to engage imaginatively with music, allowing image and sound to shape the story together.

Aleksey Igudesman

Composer

Aleksey is more than a musician-he is a cultural force redefining what it means to be an artist in the 21st century. As a virtuoso violinist, visionary conductor, genre-defying composer, educator, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and showman, he transcends musical traditions, infusing storytelling, humor, and innovation into every stage he touches.

Doris Bogen Preucil

Composer

Doris is a violinist and music educator who began her professional career in the National Symphony Orchestra before moving to Iowa where she became one of the American pioneers of the Suzuki program in 1963. This developed into the Preucil School of Music which has become an important training ground for pre-college string players. She involved herself not only in teaching, but also in arranging, orchestral conducting, and administration. She is Alexandra’s grandmother and helped her to begin playing the violin in 1987.
